The Tennessee Playlist
A surprise visit
“Find the good and praise it.”
Hello again and happy July!
I hope you had a safe and happy Independence Day holiday!
Over the past week, I had the chance to take some time off as well as do some project planning, and have decided to return the frequency of this newsletter to every other week, which will allow me to make more progress on my book while still delivering a high-quality newsletter to you.
If you’re also a subscriber to my Speak for the Heart newsletter, I’ll be alternating weeks on that one, too, which means you’ll only get 1 email from me each week (unless there’s a big event or special announcement). Hopefully, that will reduce any burden on your inbox, too! 😉
Cheers and best wishes for a wonderful weekend,
Yasmine

A Very Good Year (Contains many of the highlights of the journey for Walk through Fire: The Train Disaster that Changed America in the year of its release, 2023)

What I’m Feeling Good About
I visited the Tennessee State Museum recently, and made a surprise stop in the gift shop to sign copies of Walk through Fire: The Train Disaster that Changed America!
And I got to visit the museum’s latest exhibits, including one on the history of Tennessee music, “The Tennessee Playlist: The People, Places, and Roots of Our Music”:
Letting it rip at the state museum!
And if you missed it, my Kickstarter campaign for The View from the Cliffs is in the pre-launch phase and you can sign up to be notified when it goes live! Three physicians. Three continents. Two decades. One love story. (For a more detailed description, see my “Leap-Day Cover Reveal” newsletter. And for a brief excerpt, see “May the Road Rise Up to Meet You.”) |
What You’re Feeling Good About
Happy birthday to all those who are celebrating in July!
Some fun facts about July birthdays:
(This section is where I’ll be featuring good news, tips, and bits of wisdom from readers—so please reply to this email and share some with me! It can be anything, big or small. Whatever you’re feeling good about.)
Keeping on the Sunny Side
Another benefit of keeping on the sunny side—quite literally:
More Good News
I found this story to be both uplifting and truly amazing:
You probably know that the Summer Olympics will be held in Paris in just a couple of weeks!
And in other good news…
As Police Lt. Browning put it in this next story, “Anytime you can rescue a little critter, it always makes you feel good.”
Pawsitive Vibes
If you’re a longtime subscriber to this newsletter, you know my Golden Retriever, Ike! Well, here’s a picture of his cousin, Mint, who is justifiably proud of adding “Junior Hunter” to her roster of titles! Mint is owned by Karen Edwards and Jim Pearce of Fern Hill Golden Retrievers (they also have Ike’s grandmother and great-grandmother):
