Leap-Day Cover Reveal!

Happy Leap Day, and more Positive Vibes

“Find the good and praise it.”

—Alex Haley

Hello again and happy Leap Day!!

As I’m sure you know, Leap Day comes around only once every 4 years, but do you know what is even rarer? To have it happen on a Thursday and the same day as this newsletter’s publication! ;)

In fact, I’ll go ahead and skip to this week’s puzzle: When is the next time that Leap Day will fall on a Thursday? (The answer is at the bottom of this newsletter.)

I have a special surprise for you this Leap Day, as you’ll see below—the official cover reveal for my upcoming novel, The View from the Cliffs!

As always, you’ll find more good news below, with a Leap Day theme for today.

Happy Leaping,

Yasmine

What I’m Feeling Good About

I am SO excited to be able to share this with you, finally. As a reader of this newsletter and member of the Positive Vibes community, you are among the first to see … the cover for my upcoming novel, The View from the Cliffs!

Given that Leap Day and Ireland both play major roles in this novel, I thought it fitting to be able to do this cover reveal for you on Leap Day itself, and on the cusp of March, with St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner!

So here it is:

Coming later this year!

I had hoped to have The View from the Cliffs released by St. Patrick’s Day, but there have been unforeseen publishing delays, so it will likely be late summer or early fall. But stay tuned—as my Positive Vibes reader, you will be among the first to know!

And if you missed the description of The View from the Cliffs that I sent out last year, here it is:

The View from the Cliffs: A Novel.

Three physicians. Three continents. Two decades. One love story.

In the sweeping pages of this captivating literary romance, prepare to be drawn into a world where friendship, desire, and destiny converge.

Meet Gabriel O’Brien, a meticulous Irish neurologist who falls hard for the brilliant, career-focused cardiologist and Nashville native, Ranya Abbasi. There’s just one problem: she’s the girlfriend of Gabriel’s best friend, Rasheed Haddad, a handsome, charismatic heart surgeon from Ramallah.

How can Gabriel reconcile his love for Ranya with his loyalty to his best friend Rasheed? And how will Ranya find balance among her career ambitions, the pull of her Palestinian heritage, and her growing attraction to Gabriel?

Follow their epic journey in this international saga that extends from Nashville, Tennessee, in the heart of the American South, to the breathtaking beauty of Ireland, to the rich culture of the Middle East and back again, in a narrative that transcends borders and cultures. The View from the Cliffs is a poignant exploration of love, identity, and the ultimate redemption.

This is a story of love in all its forms, but it is even more than that: it’s a journey through histories marked by strife, a quest for meaning, and a testament to the enduring power of love and friendship. Gabriel, Ranya, and Rasheed seek a narrative different from the tumultuous stereotypes that have been handed down to them for generations, and in their hearts, they find the strength to transcend the shadows of the past.

What You’re Feeling Good About

Several of you are taking or will soon be taking some pretty cool vacations!

One friend was recently visiting Mexico’s Pacific coast, where she saw whales and dolphins from her Airbnb every morning!

(While I wasn’t able to upload her video, here is a shot of humpback whales seen from Cabo San Lucas, similar to her experience …)

Another Positive Vibes member is headed to sunny Florida!

And yet another is on her way to jolly old England! (While this is technically a work trip, I’m hoping she will have time to see some sights … 😉)

How about you? Do you have any upcoming travel plans? Any other good news you’d like to share? Just reply to this message!

Leap Day Vibes

This Irish Leap Day legend actually makes a cameo appearance in my upcoming novel, The View from the Cliffs, as you’ll see when the book comes out:

And here are some pretty interesting tidbits about Leap Day itself:

More Good News

America returns to the moon after 50 years!

Just imagine staying here … Bookings opened yesterday, Feb. 28!

And here’s some incredible news: we can now read the first scroll recovered from the ashes of Mount Vesuvius! As you’ll see from the site below, the eruption of the Mt. Vesuvius volcano 2,000 years ago buried an ancient library of papyrus scrolls, and they cannot be opened without severely damaging them, so the Vesuvius Challenge was launched to encourage scientists to find a way to read the scrolls without harming them. And they have done so!

For Your Playlist

The Odysseus moon landing and recently seeing an IMAX movie called Deep Sky made me think of this Mary Chapin Carpenter song I love, which I once heard her describe in concert as “my Prozac.”

If you’re not familiar with the song, I hope you’ll listen ‘til the end, because it tells a neat little story. I was lucky enough to see Halley’s Comet when I was 10 years old, and I hope to be able to see it again when it next comes around. (And there’s another puzzle for you: if you don’t already know my age, you do now, if you know when Halley’s Comet last came through.)

Last Word

It always seems impossible until it’s done.
