State Fair, Possadillo 5K, and more Positive Vibes

“Find the good and praise it.”

—Alex Haley

Hello again!

I hope you have had a great week so far!

On my end, I have to admit that the Positive Vibes Champion program did not take off as I would have liked, so I’m hitting “pause” on that program for now, because it may not be the right time for it. Staying agile is part of the Positive Vibes mindset, after all!

I would like to hear from you as I consider the future direction of this newsletter. Would you please do me a favor and answer the following simple poll? It just takes one click!

With which of the following do you agree more?

What I’m Feeling Good About

I am so honored that my book, Walk through Fire: The Train Disaster that Changed America, is once again part of the Humphreys County exhibit at the Tennessee State Fair!

And work continues on my Kickstarter campaign for The View from the Cliffs, which is now in the pre-launch phase; you can sign up to be notified when it goes live! I’m designing special discounts and rewards that will be available ONLY through the Kickstarter campaign!

What You’re Feeling Good About

One Positive Vibes member, Patti Damesworth, sent in the following news:

“My latest project involves organizing a 5K to be a fundraiser for a festival I want to pull together next year. This year’s 5K will hopefully bring in seed money so that next year the ‘South’s Finest Kept Secret,’ Waverly, Tennessee’s own Possadillo Festival, will start raising money for the Humphreys County Arts Council to go towards purchasing a building for classes, and a gallery, meetings, etc.”

P.S. Ask Patti on the Facebook page about the origins of this fictional animal, the Possadillo … I’m sure there’s a good story there! 😉

(This section is where I’ll be featuring good news, tips, and bits of wisdom from readers—so please reply to this email and share some with me! It can be anything, big or small. Whatever you’re feeling good about.)

More Good News

You might be surprised to see who won the “husband calling” contest at the TN State Fair this year (you might be surprised to know there is a “husband calling” contest in the first place)!

And you may have seen the supermoon this week—I hope you did—but if you’ve missed it, you’ll have 3 more chances to see one in upcoming months!

Pawsitive Vibes

This week brought some unseasonably cooler—and absolutely beautiful—weather to Middle TN, so I took my Great Pyrenees/Siberian Husky mix, Feeny, to Bells Bend Park:

Happy trails!

Feeny also celebrated his 4th birthday last week, and one of the places he LOVES to visit is Walmart, so that’s where he went for his birthday! 😂

“Attention, Walmart shoppers! Cuteness is in the house!”
