Summer Reading
And the Positive Vibes podcast is coming soon!
“Find the good and praise it.”
Hello again! Happy June!
I hope you’re looking at a great summer ahead! And speaking of summer, I’d love to know: what’s on your summer reading list? I’m always looking for new recommendations, whether it’s old classics or the latest release. So please reply to this email and let me know what you’re reading this summer!
As for myself, I always seem to be reading more than one book at a time—although my quirk is this: I can read several nonfiction books at the same time, but only one work of fiction at a time. What about you?
So, I’ve almost finished re-reading Secretariat (yes, I’m re-reading it again, which is another quirk of mine: if I really love a book, I’ll re-read it every couple or few years). I’m also reading Ireland, by Frank Delaney, as well as a Dave Barry book (high humor, ha!). Next up in fiction is either The Scarlet Pimpernel or The Secret History of the Pink Carnation.

I’ve also been hard at work on some exciting new projects—including a podcast and my next book! See below for more details. 🙂
Thank you again for being a member of the Positive Vibes community!
Cheers,
Yasmine

What I’m Feeling Good About
You asked; I listened! When I did a survey in this newsletter last summer, regarding how best to expand Positive Vibes, you all overwhelmingly responded that I should do a podcast! So, indeed, that’s what I’m doing!
I’ve begun recording episodes of a new podcast, “Positive Vibes from Yasmine S. Ali, MD,” which you’ll hear me refer to just as the “Positive Vibes podcast.” Several members of the Positive Vibes community have already agreed to be on the podcast, and I think you’ll really enjoy listening. Once I have enough episodes mastered to comfortably go live, I’ll let you know!
I’ve also started recording the audiobook for my novel, The View from the Cliffs. Once that’s available, you’ll also be the first to know!
And I’m writing my next book! This one is a work of nonfiction, titled Courage to Pivot: 5 Steps to Career Transformation. As you well know, career pivots are something with which I’m very familiar by now, and I’m excited to share my new framework for success with others who may be contemplating a career change! Stay tuned for more info . . .
And finally, I have to share some pics from my garden that I took during April and May—it was such a wonderful spring for flowers (some might say they even got a little crazy):
First bearded iris bloom of 2025 (April) | The pink tea roses were amazing this year! So many, and so fragrant! Here are just 3 of them. |
A section of the tea roses. If you look closely enough, you can see our dog Bear walking down the hill in the background. | More roses |
Red roses in May | A section of spirea in May |
What You’re Feeling Good About
I’m delighted to share the beautiful, artistic work of a fellow physician and Positive Vibes member, Dr. Rosanne Leger. Ever since I’ve known her, Rosanne has been creating beautiful art, and now she’s made it available commercially! Below you’ll see two of the journals I purchased featuring her artwork on the cover:
And you can view and purchase more of her work at her online gallery and store, RoseGallery24: https://rosegallery24.printify.me/
(This section is where I’ll be featuring good news, tips, and bits of wisdom from readers—so please reply to this email and share some with me! It can be anything, big or small. Whatever you’re feeling good about.)
More Good News
Truly incredible:
And this one also happens to be a story from Michigan:
And if you missed the thrilling run of the Preakness Stakes in May (plus, the Belmont Stakes is this weekend, and Journalism is the early favorite, as of this writing):
Pawsitive Vibes
One Positive Vibes member, Patti Damesworth, loves to photograph troll dolls where you would least expect to find them! (And yes, I know that Eastern Box Turtles don’t have paws, but all animals are welcome here . . . well, maybe not mosquitoes, but you get the picture . . . literally.)
Got a pet or animal pic you’d like to share? Please feel free to reply to this email!
Riddle Me This
Four cars come to a four-way stop, all coming from different directions. They can’t decide who got there first [I know this has never happened to you], so they all go forward at the same time. They don’t crash into each other, but all four cars go. How is this possible?
