Happy St. Patrick's Day!
And remembering Frank Craver
“Find the good and praise it.”
Hello again! Happy St. Patrick’s Day! 😊
Thank you to everyone who replied to last month’s issue of Positive Vibes, in which I elucidated my ORCHID Model for Positive Living! The response was overwhelming, and much appreciated.
In case you missed that issue, you can find it , and once again, this is the summary picture for my ORCHID Model:

I also heard from many of you about how you turn to Positive Vibes for not only a dose of positivity but also some stress relief, and I want you to know that I’m working on some more resources to deal specifically with the topic of stress relief, since I know how much it is needed right now! So please stay tuned to this newsletter for more on that in the future.
And, if you’d ever like to write to me, just reply to this email message, or if your email provider won’t let you do that for some reason, send me an email at:
Before I get into the rest of this St. Patrick’s Day issue, I want to remember Frank Craver, whom many of you will know from my book, Walk through Fire: The Train Disaster that Changed America, and many others of you knew him personally.
As I mentioned on my podcast (this episode), Frank passed away on February 9, at the age of 85. He was the most severely burned survivor of the Waverly Train Disaster of 1978, and he lived 48 years longer than anyone thought he would. Frank lived a full life (see obituary here), overcoming adversity after adversity with resilience and determination.
So, you know that “R” for Resilience in my ORCHID Model? Well, Frank Craver had Resilience in spades. I learned a lot from him and how he lived his life. He was my friend, and I feel beyond fortunate to have known him. May he rest in peace.

Thank you again for being part of the Positive Vibes community!
In gratitude,

What I’m Feeling Good About
The end of February took me to one of my favorite cities in America, one that has a surprising amount of Irish history and a big connection to St. Patrick’s Day! Here are some pics—can you guess where I went?
Here’s a video hint:
And here’s another hint: a movie directed by Clint Eastwood was filmed in this building:
And if you haven’t already read my debut novel, The View from the Cliffs, which is a unique sort of Irish story, this week is a great time to do so, because I’m offering 20% off the e-book and print versions (including autographed copies) of that book at my online bookstore! The discount code is good until 11:59 p.m. CDT on March 21. Enter SPD20 at checkout or click below:
From the Podcast
Be sure to tune in to today’s St. Patrick’s Day episode of my podcast—I’m reading an excerpt from The View from the Cliffs, from a part of the book that takes place in Ireland! Find it here, or search for “Positive Vibes: On the Sunny Side” on any podcast platform.
On a previous episode of the podcast, I had the incredible opportunity to interview Leon Alligood and Kathy Bingham Turner, who are the co-authors of a new book, Boss Brooks: A True Story of Fraud, Family, and Forgiveness from Tennessee to Texas. It’s a MIND-BLOWING story, and I think you’ll love this episode:

Positive Vibes member Patti Damesworth was recently a guest on the Jake Turner Podcast—thank you for this great picture, Patti! The green is perfect for St. Patti’s Day! 😉

If you’d like to revisit Patti’s stellar episode on the Positive Vibes podcast, you can find it here.

To Your Health
Taking care of your health is one of the most positive things you can do, so here are a few tips I’ve vetted.
This is one of the many reasons why I use extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO) almost exclusively as my go-to oil, including for cooking. (Yes, you can absolutely cook with EVOO—I do every day; just be aware that it gets hot faster due to its lower smoke point.)
